Add Node.js version guards and documentation to prevent installation failures on Node.js 23+.

A transitive dependency (buffer-equal-constant-time via jsonwebtoken) relies on SlowBuffer, which was removed or changed in Node.js 23+, causing a TypeError during npm install or runtime. This PR adds checks and documentation to guide users to compatible LTS Node versions.
